Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a 5000 year old Chinese form of treatment.

In Chinese medicine, disease, suffering and ailments are considered imbalances in the body. Acupuncture is an aid to achieving balance.

The word acupuncture is based on the fact that energy circulates in meridians in the body. Wholesomeness and health are present when the energy in organs and meridians are in harmony and balance with each other. Disease is defined as an imbalance in this energy circulation.

The patients are given individual treatment. Through a thorough review of medical history, pulse and tongue diagnosis, an acupuncture diagnosis is set. This is the basis for choosing acupuncture points. The points are stimulated by thin, sterile acupuncture needles.

Acupuncture is part of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) which also consists of herbal medicine, cupping and moxa treatment, amongst other things. In the clinic, these methods are used together with modernised techniques, electro-acupuncture and the acupuncture patches from Lifewave.
