Troset farm is situated in beautiful surroundings in Markabygda village in Levanger municipality and is a very popular stop along the St. Olavleden pilgrim path.


As you come down the mountain on the pilgrim path from Munkeby, the landscape opens up to reveal its beauty all the way to Markabygda and Troset. The farm Troset is one of the oldest settlements in the village, with a restored farmhouse from 1780. Troset farm is still in full operation, and during the summer season you will meet both goats and cows on pasture. Troset offer accommodation for pilgrims in the grill hut and in the granny house. The St. Olav Path originates in Selånger outside Sundsvall (Sweden) and ends in the Nidarosdomen Cathedral in Trondheim. It follows the road that King Olav Haraldson travelled when he returned from Novgorod in Russia in the summer of 1030. His goal was to Christianise Norway and recapture the Norwegian throne.
